The triathlon is open to everyone from seasoned athletes to people looking to get a bit of extra exercise.

The indoor Triathlon consists of three events: nine kilometres on the rower, a 10 kilometre treadmill run and 15 kilometres in the spin bike.

There are two categories.

Individual where one person must complete all three disciplines.

The other is teams where a group of three can break each discipline up as much as they like but can not move onto the next one until they have completed the one they are on. 

LiveFit owner Matt Kenny said the idea was formed due to the cold, wet weather.

“The concept came about due to the winter conditions,” Kenny said.

“We wanted to offer something for people to do health-wise that was indoors. Something to keep people motivated through winter.

“It is the first time we have run the event, so it is just about participation, there will be no official winners on the day.”

The cost to enter is $20 for individuals or $45 for teams of three. The event will start at 3pm and will have a three hour time cap. It will finish at 6pm when a barbecue dinner will be served.
