Both sides will be hunting for a win to go one step closer to an appearance in the finals series.
Waratahs captain-coach Kose Lelei said there’s a similar feeling around the camp to last year when they made their run to the grand final and premiership.
“We are just looking to play more as a team, like we did last year,” Lelei said.
“With the way we played last week, the signs are looking good.”
Last week the Waratahs beat Yanco-Wamoon 44-22, an effort that impressed Lelei.
“This week’s game against Yenda is important, it's a four point game for us with the bye next week,” Lelei said.
“Last week’s game, I was proud of my boys.
“We defended as a team and everyone clicked.”
With Waratahs in fifth and Yenda two points ahead in fourth, the result will play a significant role as to where both teams finish on the ladder come season’s end.
Yenda captain-coach Tom Sellars said his side was revved up for the local derby.
“It’s always a tough game against them, they're the defending premiers,” Sellars said.
“Yenda-Tahs is a big rivalry and everyone is up for the game. We talked about it as a group.
“They got a win against us at our home ground so we’re pretty keen to get one back.
“Everyone’s pretty pumped up for it, I’m keen and everyone has been keen at training.”
Yenda come into the match off the bye which has helped Yenda field a near full strength side this week.
Along with the Graham Moon Memorial Cup up for grabs the Waratah Old Boys have put up a mug for the winner of the Len Bertoldo man of the match award.
Kick-off is at 3.30pm.
