The Griffith Swans White under 13 footballers came close to upsetting ladder leaders Narrandera in round 11 of the South West Junior Football Netball League at the weekend.

Swans White put in a determined performance against the Eagles before succumbing 4.7 (31) to 3.2 (20). Sam Kelly had a blinder for Griffith and finished the match with two majors. Luke Parmenter was the Swans’ other goal scorer.
Swans White had better luck against the Eagles in the under 11s and registered an 8.4 (52) to 3.9 (27) victory. Lucas Irvin was best on ground in the win.
Swans Red had a weekend to remember after scoring a clean sweep of their matches.
The under 11s thrashed Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong 19.15 (129) to 1.0 (6) before the under 13s produced a 10.9 (69) to 0.6 (6) walloping.
The Swans Red under 15s were also dominant and recorded a 26.18 (174) to 2.4 (16) victory over the Northern Jets. Dean Bennett kicked five goals in the win.
In netball action, Swans White had mixed results against Narrandera.
The under 11s hung on for a narrow 6-5 victory, while the under 13s (24-11) and under 15s (37-11) suffered defeats.
Swans Red had a similar experience against GGGM. The under 11s (8-6) and under 15s (34-10) both went down, but the under 13s triumphed 19-13.
