For and against is the only thing keeping the Swans out of the Riverina Football League top five at the moment following last week’s 72-point drubbing of Narrandera.

Turvey Park are winless this season, and Jenkins said the Swans were determined to keep the Bulldogs’ miserable run going at Exies Oval.

“For the second half of the season it’s important to be consistent after losing the number of close games we lost in the first half of the year,” he said.

“Turvey Park are a side we never take lightly, but we need to start the ball rolling now.”

Jenkins has no doubt the Swans have a talented enough squad to make the top five and threaten the premiership, but he concedes they haven’t always shown it on the field.

“We’ve got the cattle on the park and we’ve got the experience,” Jenkins said. 

“It’s probably more just self-belief and playing the full four quarters. 

“There’s probably only been one or two games this season where we’ve actually done that.

“But I thought there were good signs against Narrandera last week.

“I thought we were pretty close to playing four quarters last week, so hopefully we can back that up.”
