A win for Yoogali SC will consolidate their position on top of the ladder, while a Wests victory will keep them in touch with the top two.
Yoogali SC coach Anthony Martinello has rarely put the same team on the paddock two weeks in a row, but he believes his side is starting to settle.
“We’re starting to get there, I think. I mean, even though we can’t get the same side, the squad has done the job all year,” Martinello said.
“Everyone continues to train hard.
“Jacob Brooker is still suspended, but we’re starting to get people coming back from injury and there’s less stuff going on like weddings and that sort of thing.
“I've been lucky that I've had plenty of depth in the squad.”
Yoogali SC come into the match after a week off with the bye, while Wests are backing up a 3-0 loss to Hanwood FC.
Martinello said his side would have to put in a full 90-minute performance if they were to take the points against Wests.
“They’re a dangerous side because they keep going, even at three-nil down last week,” Martinello said.
“They had a couple of very good chances toward the end. I thought they were unlucky not to score a couple.
“It shows they don't switch off, no matter what the scoreline is.
“They’re young and are always going to be a threat. They're full of energy when they play.”
In regard to his own team, Martinello said his side could always do better.
“We’ve always got room for improvement,” Martinello said.
“We are still making a few silly mistakes, but you keep building all year.
“You hope that you iron out the problems as the year goes on and you're ready for the finals.”
The last time the two teams met, Yoogali SC won 4-3.
However, the scorecard didn't tell the full story. Wests lost Damon Mazzarolo early to a red card but fought hard to lead most of the match.
First grade kicks off at 7pm.
