Corynnia Station owners Bruce and Julie Armstrong were thrilled to receive the award.
“Our guests are everything to us and without them we could not have developed this fantastic business which has added so much interest to our lives,” Mrs Armstrong said. “We are just so over-the-moon that our guests have so generously given us a five-out-of-five rating over 60 references during this time which led to our receiving this award. It’s wonderful that our guests love to visit - and keep returning!”
Corynnia Station is located only 50 minutes from Griffith on the edge of the Hay Plains.
“When we joined Trip Advisor 18 months ago I thought this award was there to be had and I inquired ‘how do we actually meet the criteria to win this award?’” Mrs Armstrong said.
“We are so lucky to live in a really unique part of the world on an old outback station that’s fully operational. Being on the edge of the Hay plains we have amazing skies and 180 degree landscapes, native flora and fauna, beautiful homestead gardens with tennis court, pool and lots of friendly animals. It’s a unique place to visit and get away from the world.
“A lot of people now don’t want to be staying in a motel. They want to get off the beaten track. We also have a lot of guests who fly in using our private airstrip.”
As a busy working station, the property is home to a quality merino flock the farming program includes rice, cotton and growing feed for sheep.
Mrs Armstrong said Corynnia Station was a pet-friendly destination, which was an advantage given the recent trend toward people travelling with their dogs.
Corynnia Station can accommodate up to 18 guests, with a single bedroom cottage, a two bedroom cottage, and a six bedroom lodge on the station.
Campers and caravans are also welcome to stay under their ancient black box trees.
The Armstrongs had worked hard to create an authentic outback experience for visitors, with extensive gardens and farm experience tours on offer.
International and domestic guests raved about their stay on the Trip Advisor website.
