Against reigning Group 20 premiers Griffith Waratah Tigers a fortnight ago, the Hawks almost pulled off an upset before going down 26-24.
Confidence was high for last week’s home match against West Wyalong, but Yanco-Wamoon produced a shocker to lose 42-12.
Watson admits he isn’t sure which Hawks team will turn up for Sunday’s away match against Hay.
“Everything we did good against Waratahs, we did bad against Wyalong,” he said.
“We’re having real troubles with our consistency.”
Watson said the Hawks were too predictable in attack last week.
“When we played Waratahs, we were running in twos and we were just in better positions,” he said.
“Against Wyalong, there was a lot of one-out type stuff.
“That’s really easy to defend.”
If the Hawks are to score their first win of the season, hooker and assistant coach Glenn Dumbrell will likely have to play a starring role.
Watson said the No.9 was all class.
“He (Dumbrell) is one of the best players going around the comp at the moment,” he said.
“He’s been going really well for us.”
