The under 16 girls recorded a fantastic 61-49 win in the division two decider against Bathurst.
MVP Keira Argus set the standard with 19 points, while Anna Robinson played her best game for the weekend to drill 18 in the victory. Tanna Collins and Emily Curran rebounded strongly all game to help set up breaks for the Demons.
Also enjoying premiership success were the Demons under 18 boys, who beat the Orange Eagles 79-56.
Blake Schaefer, playing his last game for the side, turned in a huge performance to nail 38 points.
Schaefer made the Orange defence look twice as he consistently drove the bucket and hit the close shots when needed. Logan Testoni also starred at point guard and controlled his side’s play.
The victory saw Schaefer, Brady French and Tristan Talent leave the junior program on a high after representing the Griffith Basketball Association with distinction.
The Demons under 12 boys played Lithgow in their final but went down 52-31, with too many turnovers costing the young Griffith side.
The Demons under 14 boys were underdogs in their final against Orange but turned in arguably their best performance of the season in the 56-37 loss.
Isaac Testoni, Blake Argus, Liam Blanch, Sam Payne and Mitch Salvestro were the standouts.
The Griffith under 16 boys also stretched Orange in their final before going down 70-53. Tough going under the basket saw Demons big men Michael Zapala and Douglas Harvie foul out during the contest.
Their loss added pressure to the Demons, but the Griffith combination never gave up and led by Jack Gilbert, Juan Allanic and Jordan Magoci, scrapped until the final whistle.
The Demons under 12 and under 14 girls’ sides bowed out in the semi-finals of their respective divisions.
Special mention goes to Griffith referee Blake Testoni, who officiated five games on the weekend and was awarded the finals of the under 12 girls and under 14 boys.
He was also assistant coach of the Griffith under 12 boys side.
