Forty veterans played a single stableford at Griffith Golf Club last Thursday. The event was also the second round of the Cudmore-Williams Trophy against Leeton.

Noel Foley won a shirt for his winning card of 39 points on a countback over Dick Thompson, who took home a cap. Bill Wilkinson (37 points) won gloves for finishing third on a countback over Max Goodger, who received a sleeve of balls.
Only two pins were won and went to Doug McWilliam (7th) and John Kellaham (Leeton) (11th).
Vouchers went to 33 points.
Griffith won the day 28.9 to 27, but Leeton holds the overall lead 59.5 to 58.9.
The veterans’ competition continues tomorrow.
Last Wednesday’s pro comp was a single stableford and had 34 players in two grades. Tiuri Phillip carded a high 42 points to win the 0-18 grade. He nailed a birdie on the sixth in scoring 21 points out and 21 in.
Lance Perry (36 points) was runner-up after recovering from a dirty day of 16 points out to add 20 home, carding five pars.
Ray Barrington (38 points), with splits of 19 on each nine, carded six three-pointers to win the 19-36 grade. Don Catanzariti (35 points) was runner-up. He carded a four-point par on the 12th.
Vouchers went to 31 points on a countback.
