The 73 morning players who participated in the Anzac Day single stableford at Griffith Golf Club on Saturday got the best of the conditions after avoiding the afternoon rain.

Luke DeValentin (40 points) won A grade. He scored 20 points on each nine, draining a birdie on the 12th.
Runner-up Nathan Campbell (39 points) had 19 out and 20 home, carding nine pars.
Chris Gonzo (39 points) was best in B grade with splits of 19-20. He nailed a birdie on the 18th.
Ngarau Noa (37 points) was second. He recovered from a dirty day of only scoring 15 points out to turn it around and card 22 points home, with six pars on the day.
Chris Gill (38 points) was C grade’s winner. He carded a four-point par on the third in scoring 20 points out. Despite missing on the 16th and 17th, he scored 18 points in.
Runner-up Mark Webb (37 points) was a plane wreck on the front nine and only carded 13 points. But he came home in business class, adding 23 points, which included a four-point par on the 13th.
Martin Sweeney played the shot of the day, jamming his third shot into the cup for an eagle three on the 17th.
Pro pins were won by Anthony Ross and Mitchell Howard. Par threes went to Ryan Harrison (4th), Sid Knox (7th), Jason Magoci (11th) and Silvio Bortolin (16th).
Vouchers went to 32 points on a countback.
The qualifier for the Keno Mixed NSW Championship was played last Sunday. Eleven pairs hit the fairways for a play-off place at Jerilderie on May 31. The event was a 4BBB versus par.
Jenny Thomas and Gerry Cox were the top qualifiers on plus five, with Cox nailing birdies on the third and 15th.
Second qualifiers were Lyn Hedditch and Dick Thompson with plus four, carding plus two on each nine.
Bill and Shirley Carter, and Merle and Joe Cudmore won vouchers.
A single versus par with 35 players in two grades was played in conjunction.
Ben Dickie (plus one) won the 0-18 grade on a countback over runner-up Andrew Noad, on a countback over Brad Hammond.
Basil Dunscombe (plus two) won the 19-36 grade. He nailed a birdie on the 15th.
Runner-up Andrew Mott also carded plus two but lost the countback.
Today’s event is a single stableford, Saturday’s is the May monthly medal – a single stroke. Sunday there is a single stableford and also the popular Jerilderie Open.
