The school welcomed our 21 new kindergarten students to the first year of their schooling life.
They have settled in well and are enjoying their time at school.
They are busy learning the routines of school.
They have been learning sounds, sight words and beginning maths skills.
The captains were honoured to be invited to the launch of Griffith City Council’s new Mobile Library Van.
Callum thoroughly enjoyed his experience in Sydney at the Young Leaders Conference.
He joined 6000 people from around the state.
They listened to speakers such as NSW Premier Mike Baird.
Bindi Irwin and the inspiration behind the hit movie Paper Planes Dylan Parker and James Norton also spoke.
Lake Wyangan Public School Year 5/6 students have an amazing opportunity this year with participating in a School Band.
They are learning to play a range of instruments such as trumpets, flutes, clarinets and saxophones.
The school would like to thank Toni Howard and Trevor Peacock.
They have donated their time and skill to help the students.
Lake Wyangan participated in the Small Schools Swimming Carnival in early Term 1.
Ben O’Connor was a standout.
He won the Junior Boys Champion and the school had eight other students qualify for the zone Carnival.
From there we had three students qualify for the Riverina Carnival in Albury.
An outstanding effort!
Students in Years 1-4 participated in a two week intensive swimming program.
It was amazing to see the students’ progress over the two weeks! Well done to all students involved.
We also had a visit from Rock It!
The students not only learnt about different types of music but also participated in singing and dancing.
It was a fantastic performance the whole school enjoyed.
Our last day of Term 1 ended with a fantastic Easter Hat parade and Easter Egg Hunt.
There were many amazing, colourful hats worn by the students in all years.
Our Easter Egg Hunt was a great end to a busy Term 1.
Term 2 is shaping up to be just as busy as Term 1.
Students will compete in cross country carnivals and various other sporting carnivals spread out during the term.
The school wishes all our students participating in these carnivals the best of luck.
