Artistic director Elik Melikov believes those that do come will be in for an experience like no other.
“I am positive that there are many people in Australia that love theatre, art and the drama that are produced in the performances," he said.
“Ballet is something that everyone can enjoy and feel connected to.
“There are many lovers of ballet and classical Russian ballet.
“The Sleeping Beauty ballet was made in 1882 with the music by Tchaikovsky and since then more than a century worth of performances have been done and people still yearn for more.”
When asked what makes the performance the spectacle that it is, he attributed it to the storytelling more than anything.
“It is a fairytale so everyone including children, teens, parents and grandparents will love it because everyone will find something interesting and unique for themselves that they bring away with them,” Mr Melikov said.
“Because of its popularity people who come the first time will come again with family and friends to allow them to be dazzled for a first time.”
With a few performances already under their belt in the Australian tour the director has felt a great warmth and admiration from the crowds.
“The production is frequented by the ballet lovers as well as those not yet accustomed to the theatre but regardless of their previous encounters we have seen a real love from the audience,” he said.
“People have been inspired inspired by the ballet and left heir impressions on the Facebook page as just one way of showing their appreciation.
“Some audience members have come to the back stage and shown their appreciation for the show and for the dancers in person.
“We are happy that so many people have left with smiles on faces and we hope that it warms the heart of those who witness it.”
Mr Melikov said people who had never attended a ballet would be impressed.
“In some cases I envy the person who has not yet been to the ballet because it will be your first performance and they will get to experience a spectacular performance, they will be able to find a new world from the ballet,” he said.
“So those who come the first time they will enjoy the classical Tchaikovsky music, enjoy the lavish on-stage costumes, very beautiful decoration whether it be the old castles, the ballroom or the forest and it will all look spectacular thanks to the efforts of the light designers.
“The most important thing of all is that the ballet dancers will be spectacular.
“People who come will discover a new world and may even find that it is more interesting than the football.”
The Moscow Ballet La Classique will be performing Sleeping Beauty at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 29 at the Griffith Regional Theatre.
