Brooker was one of the standouts as Yoogali SC came back from a 1-0 deficit.
The opening round match of the Billabong Cup was described as physical by Yoogali SC coach Anthony Martinello.
“It did get quite physical early,” Martinello said.
“We went down one-nil and the boys stuck to the game plan. They all knew they had a job. They persisted and got the win.”
Martinello was happy to take the three points and said it was a good platform for the rest of the year.
“You need to get results early on to set up for the year,” he said.
“Our first half was quite dominant. Our boys were playing very well.
“Around midway through the second half both sides felt the fitness aspect of the game. All in all I’m happy with the result.”
Martinello praised Brooker for his three-goal effort but said his whole side put in.
