Second at the end of the competition rounds, Rawlinson & Brown was too strong for the minor premier and recorded a convincing 11-6 victory.
Scores were tighter in the women’s division one decider, with East Griffith Caremore Pharmacy doing just enough to edge Snow’s Excavations 5-4.
Last time the teams met in round 15, Snow’s Excavations recorded a dominant 7-2 victory.
It was the first time East Griffith Caremore Pharmacy had been beaten during the summer, but the minor premier made sure it won the rematch in the most important game of the season.
In men’s division two, K & N Virago prevailed 3-2 in a low-scoring contest against The Bounce, while YTW had an equally tough time against Tonnan before prevailing 7-6 in men’s division three.
Riverina Water Engineering claimed the men’s division four premiership with a hard-fought 7-5 victory over Hammond & Dale Builders, and I Like It Prevailed 5-3 against South Pacific Seeds in men’s division five.
In women’s division two, Jeff Johnson Automotive won on forfeit, while Riverina Storage/Griffith Laundry Service claimed the women’s division three grand final 5-3 over Campbell Page.
Clear Lakes Citrus took out the women’s division five title with a 10-9 win over itravel Griffith.
In other news, the Griffith Touch Association referees will hold their annual presentation dinner at Northside Leagues Club on March 28.
Two of them – Nick Altin and Frank Scarfone – will head north to officiate at the National Touch League in Coffs Harbour from March 11-14.
