“You have to let the Indonesian legal process run its course and it's a reminder that at the end of the day people need to realise that we don't have control over other governments,” he said.
“I would say the majority of people would not like to see these people put to death and it's the sort of crime where I don't think the death penalty is the right way to go.”
“It is a chilling reminder to people visiting countries with these laws in place that if you are caught then you will face the death penalty.”
He said he believed the federal government was doing all it could to prevent the executions.
“When all else fails you have to appeal and that's what the Australian government has done," he said.
“I know Julie Bishop is doing everything she can in this situation.”
