The 20-year-old injured herself at a recent training session after bracing for a fall. Badenhorst needed surgery to repair the severe break, with doctors inserting a metal plate and seven screws to fix her wrist.
Despite the pain, Badenhorst will compete in the banked slalom on Saturday after withdrawing from her race on Tuesday.
“I’m just hoping to compete since my wrist is causing me a lot of pain at the moment,” Badenhorst said.
“I’m not focussing on medalling, but more so on competing.
“In this case I just have to be sensible and listen to my body and see where it takes me on the day.”
No matter where she finishes, Badenhorst has already had a memorable time in Spain.
Earlier this week she was given the honour of carrying the Australian flag at the opening ceremony.
