Steve Matheson (41 points) won A grade. He fired one-over par 72 with birdies on the first and sixth.
Runner-up Wayne Rostron (38 points) fired four-under par 67 after carding birdies on the second, fourth, ninth, 14th and 15th. He plays off minus two.
Countbacks sorted the places in B grade.
Garry Hartnett and John F Gale both scored 42 points.
Hartnett’s 23-point back nine, which included a birdie on the 16th, won him the day.
Gale drained a birdie on the eighth.
Graeme Gifford (38 points) was C grade’s best. He carded a four-point par on the 14th. Shane Gaffey (37 points) was second.
Vouchers went to 33 points on a countback.
The veterans also played a single stableford last Thursday, with 34 players in two grades. Roy Calabria (38 points) won the 0-18 grade ahead of Tony McBride (37 points) on a countback over Ken Alpen.
Denis Moran (40 points) won the 19-36 grade ahead of Max Goodger (38 points).
Nearest the pins went to Max Goodger (4th), Joe Cudmore (7th), Tony McBride (15th) and Graham Gifford (16th). Vouchers went to 35 points on a countback.
Veterans are reminded that annual subscriptions are due. Envelopes are on the bar. Thursday’s event is a team stableford, played in threes or fours.
