Alf Franchi (39 points) won A grade after birdieing the seventh, eighth and 17th holes.
David Kidd (36 points) was the runner-up.
Howard Mitchell (40 points) was the best in B grade.
He finished two ahead of runner-up Stephen Joyce (38 points).
Countbacks were needed to sort out the places in C grade after Mitchell Oates and Andy Arnold both carded 38 points.
Oates ended up taking the win. He scored 22 points home to Arnold’s 17 to finish on top.
Pro pins were won by Dave Gandy and Max Goodger on the day.
Par threes went to Andrew McLean (4th), Alf Franchi (7th), Ron Virago (11th) and Robert Chant (16th).
Vouchers went to 33 points on a countback.
Sunday’s event was also a single stableford.
It attracted a field of 37 players.
Andrew McLean (38 points) was in good form to take out the victory in A grade.
He nailed a birdie on the eighth to help him reach the winning score.
Runner-up Wayne Tyndall (36 points) wasn’t too far behind and birdied the first.
Craig Lugton (39 points) won B grade ahead of Duncan Adams (34 points).
Jack Draskovic (33 points) drained a four-point par on the fourth in winning C grade.
Geoff Simms was the runner-up after finishing with the extraordinary score of 28 points.
Nearest the pins were Graham Kilby (4th) and Duncan Adams (11th). Vouchers went to 31 points.
Members are advised of the Griffith Golf Club’s proposed action regarding future cart sheds.

Griffith Golf Club president Richard Laurent has intimated he will not be standing for the position this year.
This means someone will have to put their hand up to fulfil the role.
Today’s event is a single stroke.
Saturday’s is a single stableford and Sunday’s is the qualifier for the Norm Saxvick Memorial Red Gum Plate.
The event will be sponsored by Terry Brady Painters.
The competition will be a four-ball aggregate stableford.
Players must have paid their 2015 subscription before tee off to particpate in the event.
