City mayor John Dal Broi said Griffith offered enormous rental accommodation return and had cheap land and a wide range of services.
"Perhaps there is a lack of understanding of where Griffith is and the makeup of our city," Councillor Dal Broi said.
"It's a relaxed lifestyle with plenty of activities for families and the infrastructure and services that our city contemporaries enjoy."
Cr Dal Broi said many visitors commented on the city's hospitality and the city had a good reputation as a family centred community.
Council has committed to becoming an investment friendly council, admitting it had overhauled policies.
"In the past we have had a reputation for being difficult," council's director of sustainable development Neil Southorn said.
"That is not the same council you would experience today.
"We have overhauled our policies, streamlined our DA processes to be in the top three in NSW for processing times for councils of our size."
