Belinda Johns and Kristy Brown are relieved to report all of their equipment survived the fire that broke out last Friday morning in the top block of Banna Avenue.

A 14-year-old male has since been charged with arson following the blaze that affected three businesses.

"We are so relieved to let everyone know our design files are safe and in working order, and all of our equipment seems to have survived," Mrs Johns said.

"It will be business as usual, just from our original location until the damage has been fixed and our office is safe again.

"Kristy was working away on Friday morning, when Stacey from Stitch 'n' Sew ran upstairs and asked if she could smell smoke.

"They both quickly realised the smoke was coming from the back roof of Unique Hair, which backs on to our office.

"With no time to spare, everyone was evacuated."

The creative pair have thanked police and firefighters for their efforts. "The fire and the efforts to put out the fire have caused damage to all three businesses. Unique Hair and Stitch 'n' Sew are closed until further notice.

"We fortunately could move all our essential contents and continue to work but we have no idea how long the clean up job will take," Mrs Johns said.

"A huge thanks to the local fire brigade and police for their quick response plus an extra huge thanks to everyone for their kind words, support, phone calls, texts and emails.

"We're glad to say we can keep working."
