Earthquake will have a crucial gear change when she takes on the boys in the Coolmore Stud Stakes on Saturday. "If you look at her pedigree it looks like she would be a candidate for blinkers," trainer John O'Shea said on Sunday. "She wore them in the jumpout the other day and she went as straight as a gun barrel. Hopefully they'll find a length or two she needs to win the Coolmore." The Blue Diamond winner bounced back to form at Caulfield three weeks ago with victory in the Thoroughbred Club Stakes. Godolphin has made another two European purchases who are believed to have entered quarantine at Newmarket. The global breeding and racing giant has been more active in the buying market recently and had immediate success with Emirates Stakes hopeful Contributer in the David Jones Cup at Caulfield at his first Australian start.
