The locals generously donated their time and energy to construct a front fence for Post School Options’ new centre and at the same time reinforced what a wonderful community Griffith is.
Post School Options service manager Roy Catanzariti said he was overwhelmed by the incredible act of kindness.
“It’s just amazing that there are people like this in our community,” Mr Catanzariti said.
“These are busy men and for them to drop everything for us is incredible.
“I can’t thank them enough for what they have done.
“I estimate it would be worth around $10,000. Without their help we couldn’t have done it.”
Mr Catanzariti said without the continued support of the Griffith community they wouldn’t have been able to achieve so much.
“It’s unbelievable. Our community is such a great support for us,” he said.
“Robert Vardanega from Griffith Bricks and Pavers has been wonderful. He has helped organise all of the troops. He is such a caring, giving guy-just a great man.”
Mr Vardanega said the fence, which was started on Saturday and will be finished in the coming weeks, was a real team effort.
“We had a good day and got a fair bit done,” he said.
“It’s a big job, but it’s all for a good cause.
“All I did was ask around and they all willingly chipped in.
“This has been made possible with the help of Griffith Bricks and Pavers, PGH Bricks and Garry Cullen Sand and Soil and all of the guys who helped out.”
