Lake Wyangan Public School’s inaugural Photography Festival has been hailed a huge success.
Using the theme Up The Garden Path to tie in with the Griffith Festival of Gardens, local snappers were invited to contribute to the exhibition.
“It was such a beautiful day,” P&C committee member Renee De Saxe said.
“The workshops were all fully booked and really well received. Participants said they thought they were fantastic and the photographers are keen to run more next year.
“We had a very positive response from everyone who came along. They loved the childrens’ photos and were surprised by the quality of photography in Griffith.”
Mrs De Saxe thanked Erin Catanzariti, Melanie Baulch, Jason Richardson, Garry Bazzacco, who conducted the informative and creative workshops.
It is estimated that about 500 people took the opportunity to view the exhibition featuring 127 photos.
“We had a constant stream of people through,” she said.
“We are delighted and excited about the way our first event has gone.
“I think we can only grow from this. Its just a matter of building on what we have.
“The pride the students got from being part of this exhibition and the experience was wonderful.
“It gave our kids an opportunity to exhibit and learn new skills.”
The festival was a fundraising event, with all prints of photography on display available for purchase.
Photographers participating in the festival also donated some funds to the cause.
