YENDA under 16 co-coach George Broome has spent this week trying to convince his players that Sunday's grand final against Darlington Point-Coleambally is just another game.
The Blueheelers finished two points behind minor premiers the Roosters on the ladder but beat them 26-22 in the second week of the finals to qualify for the season decider.
Broome said he was keeping the build-up to the grand final as relaxed as possible.
"I'm not trying to get them to overthink it too much," he said.
"I'm trying to get it into their heads it's just another game of football and that's the way they should treat it."
As he has all year, Broome will ask his forwards to lay a platform for the Blueheelers' backs to strut their stuff.
"Our forwards will definitely have to stand up on the day," he said.
"Once they get going, the backs will do the rest.
"The boys have a lot of faith in each other."
Roosters under 16 coach Ray Schaefer said his team was happy to claim the underdog status.
"I'm not getting them too revved up," he said.
"We go in as underdogs as they've beaten us twice and we've beaten them once.
"They've got a lot of good rep players in there, so they'll be tough to beat."
But Schaefer has plenty of faith in his squad. He said the likes of Joshua Fattore, Cameron Powell, Blake Schaefer, Matt Kelly, Josh Boag and Kane Simpson were all capable of turning the match for the Roosters.
"I don't think there'll be much between the sides," Schaefer said.
"I think it'll come down to whoever turns up on the day."
