It's hard to comprehend how a woman suffering from bowel cancer has not even been able to move back into her own home.
I also heard about people who had their insurance claims rejected and a woman who lived in a caravan with young children up until just recently.
The stories were sad but what shone through was the resilience of these people, and their obvious love for the community they live in.
Despite the floods, they spoke about their love for Yenda and most had no plans to move on.
This just goes to show what a great place Yenda must be to live in.
Let's hope those affected by the floods get some answers soon and are able to move on from the terrible tragedy.
