Navajo beat second-placed Cherokee 19/16 but will watch the finals from the sideline after narrowly losing fourth position to Mohawk, who played out a 17/17 draw with bottom-placed Mahican.

Competition leader Dakota defeated Comanche 22/19 in its last game to secure the minor premiership, the result leaving Comanche in third.

Joel Spencer won the first game of his encounter against Matt Kirkman 10/9 before his opponent shifted gears to claim the match and remain unbeaten for the competition rounds.

For the third consecutive season, Nic Calcutt also finished undefeated after holding off a determined challenge from Adam Taylor, who began brilliantly to take the first two games 9/2, 9/6.

Joe McGillivray was forced to find his best form to defeat Judy Best in five, while Ben McCallum put in a super effort to defeat Livio Mazzon in four.

Mirco Gatti had to work a little harder to win his clash against Andrew Rowe. Gatti failed to capitalise on three match points in the third but recomposed himself to win in five.

In a close encounter, Norma Spencer defeated Kirsty Jensen 10/9 in the fifth, while the battle between Pete Centofanti and Luke Kirkman was a contender for match of the night.

Kirkman won the first game 9/6, but Centofanti responded and looked to have the contest under control when he won the next two 9/2, 9/3.

Kirkman, however, didn't give up and went on to win the match 9/7 in the fifth.

Tomorrow night Dakota plays Cherokee in the major semi-final, with the winner to progress to the season decider.
