Deanne McDermott Haddrill, originally from Barellan, and her children Ellie, 3, and Mason, 18 months, were at home last Friday when a blaze suddenly broke out in the chimney of the home she was renting.
Friend Sheradine Turkington, who worked with Dee at Hunky Dory three years ago, said many locals would remember her as the person who helped put smiles on children's faces.
"She was amazing with the kids," Mrs Turkington said.
"Dee was well known for her enthusiastic birthday party skills when she worked at Hunky Dory and provided many smiles on children's faces, now it is time to pay it back.
"I put the call out on Facebook and people have been great, but they need absolutely everything. Dee is such a kind-hearted person and would go out of her way for others."
The call has gone out for house hold items, children's clothing or toys to help put smiles back on their faces.
"Mason loves The Wiggles and Ellie loves Peppa Pig," Mrs Turkington said.
"Any donation no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated."
Deanne's sister Katie McDermott said she was grateful they had been able to get out.
"The chimney was blocked and they were in the house. They walked out with what they had on," she said.
"We are looking at having to replace everything, all of their possessions are gone."
Items can be dropped at Griffith PCYC between 10am and 6pm and will be delivered by truck to the family Monday to Friday after 6pm.
Donations can also be made at the ANZ Bank, account name Deanne Ashlee Haddrill, BSB 01257, account number 215388583.
