Real estate professionals from across Griffith attended the Real Estate Big Day Out at the Griffith Ex-Servicemen's Club as part of a roadshow event run by the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW), which has been travelling right around NSW teaching agents the finer details of their market.
President of the REINSW Malcolm Gunning said the Big Day Out provided attendees with the opportunity to give the organisation feedback on what they face day-to-day.
He said the event allowed them to talk about global, Australian and state economies in relation to Griffith and the performance of the property market in Griffith compared to the rest of NSW.
"(It's an) opportunity for real estate professionals to come face-to-face with government and other industry stakeholders," he said.
Those who attended were able to hear what's happening in the market and the economy, the impact of recent legislative changes, as well as our lobby activities.
"At the end of the day there's obviously a global situation with what's going on with the USA and they were able to take it down to real estate agents," director at Griffith Real Estate and REINSW board member, Tony Santolin said.
"It was a good chance for the locals to have their say about issues that are effecting their business.
"For these guys to come to Griffith it's a big ask for them, they rarely come west of the Blue Mountains.
"We're very fortunate for them to come out here and present to us."
The roadshow was attended by representatives from NSW Fair Trading, NSW Office of State Revenue, NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and REI Super.
Real Estate Employers' Federation (REEF) Executive Director Greg Paterson and Director of Workplace Relations Mark Helm were also on hand to discuss workplace relations issues.
