First day of winter lives up to expectation

YESTERDAY was the first day of winter and it was a chilly one for Griffith residents.

It was 12.4 degrees at 11.30am, prompting many people to don coats, with a maximum of 15 C forecast.

There were scattered showers, which are expected to clear today and mostly sunny days forecast for later in the week.

The maximum temperature forecast for today and tomorrow is 16 C, while it is expected to rise slightly to 17 C on Wednesday.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday also have a forecast maximum temperature of 16 C.
