The Hot in Hollywood Ball was held on Easter Thursday to raise money for the Rotary Club of Griffith Avanti and organiser and performer Peter Sparks said it went really well.
“We had something like 270 people attend,” he said.
Mr Sparks was up on stage alongside performers such as Jodi’s Dance Company, Lorraine Sutton and Dolly Dance Academy in a performance that entertained the crowd for more than 50 minutes.
“The group from the Avanti Club got dressed up in all the gear, I was the cowboy, and sang YMCA,” Mr Sparks said.
The entertainment for the evening extended beyond the stage with a surprise raffle, which raised around $1500, a regular raffle, and prizes for best dressed and best costume.
“Christine Del Gigante won best dressed woman,” Mr Sparks said.
“She wore a 1920s style white stylish dress and looked stunning. Doug McWilliam was the best dressed male and he looked very classy.”
With the Hollywood theme came some classic movie characters to compete for the best costume.
“Luke Edwards came as Willy Wonka and Kacey Johnstone came as Princess Leia,” Mr Sparks said.
“They both looked great.”
Their prize included tickets to a show at the Regional Theatre.
While the event was a raging success, the final fundraising amount is still being tallied and Linda Pasquetti said she expected to have the exact amount by next week.
