Former local Barbara Goldman's baking took the cake in several categories in what culminated for her 34 years of entries at the Sydney Royal.
"I've been entering since 1980, but I've never done so well," Mrs Goldman said.
Mrs Goldman won most successful in the non-perishable category and was equal most successful in the perishables.
For Mrs Goldman, baking for shows is a family affair.
"I started cooking for Griffith Show when I was five years old and it's a tradition my mother (Pat Spry) started 60 years ago," Mrs Goldman said.
At this year's Sydney Royal, Mrs Goldman and her daughter Carla Goldman competed in the state-wide ASC Rich Fruitcake Competition, an event Mrs Goldman won in 2012 and 2013.
"My daughter beat me this year, but the judges said it was very close," Mrs Goldman said.
"My mother was very proud as we got first and second."
Local needle-queen Dawn McIntyre challenged the best with wool in the state at the Sydney Royal to place third.
"I had to win here at Griffith, then at zone and then the three pieces went to Sydney and were judged as a whole," she said.
"It was a wool award, so the entries had to be wool to promote wool."
Ms McIntyre's three entries were a four-ply pan-cardigan with a design, a short-sleeve green five-ply jumper with a lacy design and a five-ply round-neck jumper.
Griffith Showgirl co-ordinator Yvette McKenzie said this year's showgirl Emily Chilvers was a great ambassador in The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition.
