Despite heavy rain making the set-up a challenge, the clouds cleared as guests arrived and event co-ordinator Gail Sergi said it was “wonderful” from there on in.
While the totals are stilled being tallied, early estimates predict at least $25,000 was raised and will be added to the Griffith Community Private Hospital fund.

About 340 people made it to the event and Mrs Sergi said those who didn’t make it missed out on a fantastic night.
She said her phone had been ringing non-stop since the night, with happy party-goers singing the event’s praises.
“It was just amazing, everyone is talking about it,” Mrs Sergi said.
“Everything was wonderful and Griffith is such a generous community with such generous people, it makes me so happy to live here.
“The food was amazing and everyone who donated their time made it such a success.
“We raised $8000 just through the raffle – without all the people who supported us, it just never would have happened.”
St Vincent’s Private Hospital CEO Robert Cusack made the trip down for the night and was hugely impressed with the turnout.
The crowd was rapt with the entertainment which included local musicians and comedy trio The Three Waiters.
“It was a night to remember, it never stopped, not once,” Mrs Sergi said.
“The people from St Vincent’s were blown away, they just couldn’t believe it.”
Fireworks finished off the night full of good food, good company and plenty of laughs.
