Rep teams set for big weekend

SILVERWARE has always found a way to elude Griffith's junior representative cricket sides in the past - but that could be about to change on Sunday.

Griffith will roll out the welcome mat for big brother Wagga as the two cities battle for glory in the Warren Smith (under 16s), Geoff Lawson (under 14s) and Derek Rogers (under 12s) cup competitions.

Griffith's three junior rep teams have already beaten Wagga once this season and on the back of an undefeated run into the finals, each are in with a strong chance of bringing those trophies to Griffith for the first time ever.

Pick up Friday's The Area News for full previews of all three matches.
