THE MIA Deanery Swimming Carnival was held at the Griffith pool on Friday, enabling swimmers from the six Catholic Primary Schools in the MIA to compete for a place at the Diocesan Carnival next Wednesday in Leeton.

Brock Twigg from St Patrick's Griffith was the senior boys champion and put in an amazing performance, finishing first in all six of his individual events.

Mitchell Cooper from St Joseph's Leeton, swam well to take out the 11 year boys championship with Dylan Johnson from St Joseph's, Narrandera, a close second.

Tom Sheldrick from St Joseph's Leeton was the junior boys champion with Archer Asmus from Leeton and Ben Tyson from Griffith tying for second.

MacKenzie Dodwell from St Joseph's Narrandera recorded six wins from her six events to take out the senior girls championship.

Ruby Cornale and Sienna Donadel - both from St Mary's Yoogali - shared the 11 year girls championship with Jorja Nichols finishing in third place.

Samantha Taylor from St Patrick's Griffith was junior girls champion with five wins from five events, with Meg Thomas from Leeton placing second.

Parental and teacher assistance, along with the cooperation of the pool complex staff and the Griffith Swimming Club, led to the overall success of the day.
