ST PATRICK'S Primary held their school swimming carnival last week with Brendan House taking the Father Gallagher Shield for the team that earned the most points on the day.
Marcellin was second overall, while Patrick followed closely with McAuley next.
A full range of events was held on the day with one of the highlights being the teachers/parents/students race, which was luckily won by the parents.
The age championship trophies were closely contested with Abby Favell taking out the senior girls title, Isabella Smith the 11 year girls championship and Samantha Taylor the junior girls crown.
Ben Tyson was the junior boys champion, Samuel Macrae claimed the 11 years championhip for boys and Brock Twigg was proclaimed the senior champion.
Samantha, Isabella and Brock won all six events that they were eligible to compete in.
Thanks went to the many parents who became involved in many ways to make the day a success.
Thanks also go to the pool staff and the Griffith Swimming Club for their co-operation before and on the day of the carnival.
On Friday, a squad of 60 St Pat's swimmers will be participating in the MIA Deanery Carnival at the Griffith complex.
From the MIA Carnival, a subsequent squad will be selected to compete at the Diocesan Carnival in Leeton on February 26.
