The main attractions will be live music at Griffith Leagues Club and The Area Hotel, while those more inclined to see in a relaxed 2014 will wet a line at Gogeldrie Weir Park.
Gogeldrie Weir Park manager Paul Delise expected peak trading over the New Year period.
“People come out here to camp, fish and relax over New Years,” Mr Delise said.
“The park offers a family friendly alternative to the standard revelry of New Years Eve and it’s a nice and relaxed setting.
“Fishing is very popular at this time of year from above or below the weir and fishermen have been catching nice yellowbelly and cod of late.”
Griffith Leagues Club will be extending their normal trading hours for the countdown and the dancing that will ensue.
Leagues Cub entertainment manager Michael Senatore said local band Mersey Beats was expected to draw a crowd.
“We’re open until late and we expect to draw a good crowd,” he said.
“New Years is always a good night here and Mercy Beats always draw a good crowd so it should be a good night out.”
Revelers heading to The Area will be handed a sombrero to get in the spirit of the Mexican-themed night.
Bar supervisor Lisa Moala said the pub would likely reach capacity.
“It should be a great night, we have plenty of Mexican drinks on special to get people in the spirit,” she said.
“While New Years isn’t as big a night as Christmas Eve, it will be a great atmosphere with a live band and DJ.”
