Another member of the Griffith community has tragically lost their life after an elderly man became trapped under a grain trailer.
Five people have lost their lives in as many days in the Griffith area, with an 87-year-old man the latest in the tragic string of accidents.
A 21-year-old man tried to save his 87-year-old grandfather's life on Monday afternoon after he became trapped under a grain trailer at a Benerembah property.
The young man attempted to shift the trailer by trying to move it with a forklift.
Unsuccessful in his efforts, the grandson rushed for help, alerting a neighbour who called emergency services.
Police have been told the trailer had just been uncoupled from a tractor and the elderly man had tried to steady it before he became stuck under it.
Emergency services were called to the Woodside Road property about 3.30pm, where the grandson met them and directed them to the accident site.
A crime scene was established and investigations commenced. Work Cover has also been notified.
