THE ever-growing need for mental health services in Griffith will see the Community Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) Service move to new premises next Monday.
The service will relocate from the Community Health Centre in Yambil Street to larger premises at 175 Yambil Street.
Manager Lesley Dobson said the service had outgrown the Community Health Centre over the years.
"The new office is three times the size and will offer clients greater privacy, increased access and more space in a purpose-built premises," Ms Dobson said.
The new building will include four consulting rooms, desk space for up to 20 staff and a large meeting room.
Ms Dobson said the MHDA Service had appointed seven new staff since December 2012 and will shortly appoint another four to the team.
"We have four child and adolescent mental health clinicians, two specialist mental health for older persons clinicians, three drug and alcohol clinicians, an emergency department clinical nurse consultant and at the end of the current recruitment, we will have six adult mental health clinicians," she said.
"We will also be recruiting to an Aboriginal maternal and infant mental health/drug and alcohol clinician and a consumer advocate."
The phone number has changed and is now 6961 0100.
People wanting to access the service should continue to call Accessline on 1800 800 944.
The staff will be available to discuss mental health issues.
