FORGET Hollywood, Griffith will host its very own red carpet event this weekend.
Students from DGP Productions will get the star treatment when they roll up at the Griffith City Cinema in a limousine on Saturday at 5pm for the first Stop Motion Film Festival.
Proud teacher Donatella Parise said she hoped locals would come along to show their support and witness the
incredible work of around 30 budding filmmakers aged from six to 16.
“Stop motion is a series of photos edited together so they move and are animated,” Mrs Parise said.
“Some of the films are only short but I’m extremely happy with how they have turned out.
“The kids have been really creative and pieced together their very own films.
“They have used all different types of subject matter to create some impressive work.”
Mrs Parise said the one-and-a-half-hour production would not disappoint.
“Prior to each of their films I have interviewed the kids so they get to talk about their film,” she said.
“I am really proud of what they have been able to achieve. They were all so keen to be part of it.
“I’d love the community to support us and see this amazing work.”
If it is a success the festival could become an annual event.
