But away from sideshow alley, the spotlight will be firmly on entertainment for all the family.
Two of the stand-out events will have garden and lifestyle lovers queueing through the gates.
The stars of Better Homes and Gardens will be on hand to offer advice, while a specially constructed “inland garden” will be put together using $40,000 worth of plants and trees in a Chelsea Flower Show-style display.
“The inland garden will be spectacular,” show society president Christine Stead said.
Opening on Sunday, the show offers a diverse range of displays from the child-friendly petting ring and animal nursery to motorcycle and bike freestyle trial stunt shows, music from the Bankstown Band, comedy pig races, a vintage tractor pull and the dazzling fireworks display.
The showgirl judging will take place on Monday with Miss Junior, Miss Sub Junior, Mini Showgirl and Miss Showgirl being crowned.
“To all the generous individuals who volunteer and put in so much hard work before, during and after the show, thank you for all the work you have done,” Councillor Stead said.
