AN ON-fire shooting outfit helped the Griffith Swans A grade squad claim a huge 20-point victory over Ganmain Grong-Grong Matong at Griffith on Saturday.
Shooters Maddie Testoni and Emma Groat could not be shut down and the formidable pair's accuracy and tactics frustrated the Ganmain defence all game.
Using her height, Groat would hold strong on the circle and force the Ganmain defenders to double up on her. This allowed Testoni to run in and around the circle quickly to work the ball in for a chance at the goal or to draw a defensive player off Groat and free her up to get a shot in. Despite the end score, it was a tough match with a close first quarter, but the Swans managed to get a couple of good breaks from the defence and shoot ahead.

Swans coach Lousie Robertson said all players performed well on the day and deserved to get such an outstanding victory over the fourth-placed Ganmain.
"It was a good game to watch and play," she said. "Ganmain were fourth on the ladder, so it was so good to get such a good win over them."
Robertson said good ball movement and cool heads helped the squad dominate in all areas.
"Our lead came from us breaking their centres and completing the set by finishing up and getting the goal in," she said.
"Peta Larkin and Jacinta Scott both played against physical opponents and fought hard to get the ball and made excellent choices into the shooters. Our defence had a good, consistent game, not panicking and taking it easy. Bringing the ball from the defensive end to the attacking was smooth and controlled, not stressing under the extremely hard space defence from Ganmain.

"It was fantastic to see such control under such stressful situations. Amelia Kennedy and Laura Vardanega covered their girls brilliantly, coming up with some beautiful intercepts and deflections to the ball."
Players' player went to Groat, while Scott got the coach's award and Testoni grabbed the bistro award.
