Two men are in hospital with serious injuries following a fire at a house in south-west Sydney, police say.
At about 8pm on Sunday, emergency services were called to Australia Road in Barden Ridge, 31 kilometres south-west of Sydney's CBD, following reports that a house was on fire.
Upon arrival, a garage at the rear of the property was found to be alight, police said.
It is understood a car was in the garage at the time of the fire.
Two men were being treated for burns at Sutherland Hospital, a spokeswoman for the hospital said, after presenting themselves to the hospital's emergency ward.
NSW Fire and Rescue said they received a call about the fire at 7.50pm and arrived six minutes later to find the garage alight.
Police said the fire had been successfully extinguished but that there was extensive damage to the garage.
A crime scene had been established and police were investigating the incident. They are appealing to the public for information.
