ARRRR me hearties, there were plenty of pirates, but luckily there wasn't a plank in sight last Friday at Griffith East Public School.
International Talk like a Pirate Day was officially Thursday, September 19, with the school inviting students to embrace their inner pirate to celebrate the end of term 3.
Teacher Jess Kenny said the day had become a tradition everyone looked forward to at the school.
"It's something we do every year now," she said.
"It is our end of term reward for the students and is a bit of fun.
"We've got some very impressive pirates here."
The day included a variety of pirate-themed activities including making passports to board pirate ships and using a pirate name generator.
Impressive costumes to rival the likes of Long John Silver were seen around the school.
