When floods waters inundated Michael Rossetto's farm 17 months ago, he was devastated.
But without that disaster, he realised he may never have met the love of his life Jill Raccanello.
"When the floods came through we were the second or third farm in line to cop it first on the Monday," he said.
"David and Sunta Torresan are neighbours with Jill and I'm friends with David. We helped each other out after the floods.
"Then we decided to go out for tea after the clean up and they invited Jill to come along. It was love at first sight.
"When the floods hit I wondered how things could get any worse and then a few weeks later, I met Jill and it changed my perspective and I saw the positive."
The happy couple was married on Saturday at St Therese Church Yenda before being transported by a horse and carriage to the Griffith Ex-Servicemen's Club for the reception.
"Because Jill is so special, I wanted to do something a bit different," Mr Rossetto said.
"It took me about three months to chase up a horse and carriage and I finally found one at Echuca.
"We both grew up at Yenda and went to the same school, but she was younger than me.
"We lived on opposite sides of the railway. It took a big event like the floods for us to find each other. As bad as the flood was, I'm happy because something really good came out of it."
