Cash and drugs have been seized from a Griffith bikie clubhouse as part of an investigation into an alleged double murder plot in the city.
A series of raids were orchestrated on Wednesday in Griffith and Hanwood, including a search of the Collier Street clubhouse of outlaw motorcycle gang the Vikings, which uncovered cash and drugs.
Strike Force Leatham has been established by the state Firearms and Organised Crime Squad to investigate claims a number of people had attempted to solicit another person to murder two men.
As part of those investigations, detectives from the strike force and Griffith Police executed a search warrant on a home at Hanwood on Wednesday morning.
A 55-year-old man was arrested at the property after officers seized three rifles of varying calibres and a 12 gauge shotgun, ammunition, a set of handcuffs, and small amounts of cannabis and ecstasy.
Officers then executed a search warrant at another home and the Vikings outlaw motorcycle gang clubhouse at Griffith.
At the clubhouse, police seized $1200 cash, a small quantity of white powder believed to be amphetamine and a quantity of alcohol. Inquiries into the alleged illegal sale of alcohol at the premises are continuing.
Three tablets believed to be ecstasy were seized from the home at Griffith.
The 55-year-old man was charged with possessing the firearms, ammunition, a prohibited weapon and prohibited drugs.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Griffith Local Court on Wednesday, September 25.
