Photos of three stolen shotguns captured on a mobile phone will form part of a police case against a Griffith man who was arrested in the city on Friday.
It was 1.30am when detectives attended a home on Lawford Crescent and arrested a 21-year-old man who they alleged had breached bail and an AVO.
During the arrest, officers seized a number of his person items, including a mobile phone.
"An inspection of the phone allegedly identified drug activity and pictures of three shotguns, which had been stolen during a break and enter in July 2013," a police spokesperson said.
Detectives went back to the house just before noon with a search warrant and seized a shotgun barrel, a hacksaw blade, two shotgun cartridges, a firearm carry bag, a crystal substance believed to be a cutting agent, electronic scales and other goods suspected of being stolen.
The 21-year-old man was charged with possess shortened firearm, possess unauthorised firearm and numerous other firearm offences.
He will appear before Griffith court on Saturday.
