THE Yenda Blueheelers hosted Round 11 of the Group 20 Junior Rugby League competition at Jubilee Oval on Saturday, with great conditions bringing out some awesome football and league tag from all clubs in attendance.
Yenda’s under 13s kept up their strong performances from the Junee knockout to showcase some impressive skills to take wins over Leeton (44-4) and CDP (34-0).
The side has gelled very well this year with all players improving both in attack and defence. All their hard work is really showing as the boys set their sights on a grand final berth.
The under 11s are improving every week under the guidance of coach JT, who has his side playing terrific football. Yenda notched up an impressive 40-12 victory against a determined Hay side.
Connah Teaupa scored a double while David Halaapiapi, Kyle Darrington, Hinckley Samuelu, Bryn Francis and Josh Richards all bagged one try each.
Kyle Darrington, Nathan Busnello, Darcy Payne, Connah Teaupa and Josh Richards were all successful in their conversions.
The Blueheelers under 10s strung some great plays together to come out on top over a determined Leeton outfit, winning 28-0.
Isaac Piva, Denis Singh, Riley Serafin, Kahlan Spencer and Josh Richards scored a try each while Kahlan Spencer, Josh Richards and Jahsah Rogo added the extras.
The under 14s Yenda/CDP/Hay combination side was also victorious, holding off a strong Leeton/Ag side.
Defence again paved the way as the team put in 100 per cent throughout the whole game.
The Yenda White mods league tag side was on fire, smashing their opposition 46-0.
The girls attacked and defended like seasoned professionals with Macy Spencer and Paris Owen particular standouts at the back.
Jenna Richards and Frances Lalagavesi each scored a hat-trick, Makelie Crowe crossed for two tries and Kiara Andrighetto scored one.
