Dropoffs were needed to decide a high-energy grand final following an enthralling second-half armwrestle that saw the lead change hands on multiple occasions.
But Emeri's Kandice Marin crossed early in extra-time to complete a stunning hat-trick and avenge her side's loss in last year's grand final, which also went right down to the wire.
The first 20 minutes was scoreless but intriguing, with tight defence at both ends of the park prevailing over repeated pick-and-drives through the middle.
However, player of the match Julia Puntoriero tumbled over to earn a 1-0 lead for her side just after the break.
Yenda Prods responded in kind with two consecutive touchdowns the second, from Zoe Whitworth, was the best of the night as she dummied and dodged her way through the line and over the stripe.
The two sides traded blows for the remainder of the half but in a heartbreaking result for the Young Guns, they couldn't find a response in a desperate last-chance set following Marin's matchwinner.
