THE four clubs from Group 20 participating in this weekend's West Wyalong Knockout have been handed tough first-up assignments.
Darlington Point-Coleambally have been drawn with Group 9 side Southcity Bulls, the beaten grand finalists from last year.
The Bulls have strengthened significantly after signing 23-year-old Englishman Shaun Ainscough, who was playing first-grade for Bradford in the Super League last season, and will present a tough task for the Roosters.
Hosts West Wyalong will take on Canberra side Queanbeyan Kangaroos, while the Bidgee Hurricanes face a daunting match-up with Group 10 powerhouse Orange CYMS.
Tullibigeal Lakes United will be the first local side to take to the field on Friday night and are favourites to beat the Blayney Bears, who have been reinstated to the first-grade in Group 10 this year.
As always, matches at the West Wyalong Knockout are 15 minutes each way with tiebreakers decided by the first try-scorer.
The tournament winner recieves $8000, while the runners-up get $2000, the beaten semi-finalists $500 and the defeated quarter-finalists are reimbursed their nomination fee.
