Finals do-or-die time

Cricket

ONE side is clinging onto a finals spot for dear life, the other just six wickets away from one of the upsets of the season.

Tomorrow is a huge day for first-grade battlers Yenda and Hanwood, who hold their destinies in their own hands as they each prepare for a crucial innings in the field.

The Jets are four points outside of the top four and on the brink of a stunning win over the Coro Cougars, who are 4-12 and needing 159 to avoid a loss they never saw coming.

Meanwhile, Hanwood are clinging onto fourth spot but could deal Yenda's hopes a crippling blow if they can knock over Exies before they reach their 188-run target on Saturday.

It is the pacemen who hold the keys to victory, with Jets quick Dean Cunial and Hanwood's Dean Wynne both able to bowl their sides into the finals reckoning if they fire.
